Most AI communications content in 2026 lives in one of two places. The governance layer, where boards and risk committees wrestle with principles. Or the tactical layer, where practitioners trade prompts and tool tips. Both layers are necessary. Neither is sufficient for the work this course is about.
There is a third layer between the two. The operational middle. The layer where decisions get made that translate principles into specifications a specialist can build and an auditor can inspect. The layer where AI activity gets governed, not just used. The layer where, increasingly, regulators and procurement bodies are asking for evidence.

The layer this course occupies. Where principles become specifications a specialist can build and an auditor can inspect. Where AI activity gets governed, not just used. Where regulators and procurement bodies are increasingly asking for evidence.
Layer 3
Tactical layer
Where practitioners trade prompts and tool tips. Prompt engineering, vendor recommendations, content production tricks. Necessary, but not enough to govern a service with.
This course occupies that layer. Across fourteen weeks, you will produce a governed service capability for AI-enabled communication in your domain. The specification will be defensible to a board. Auditable against the frameworks that bind your work: Australia's October 2025 Guidance for AI Adoption and AI Ethics Principles, the EU AI Act and GDPR, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001 and 42005, and the sector-specific frameworks that apply where your audiences are. Operational, meaning a vendor or internal team could build from it.
The course is not principles work. Boards have principles. The course is not tools work. Practitioners have tools. The course is the operational middle. The specifications that translate the principles into things that can be built, governed, and defended.
